Hampyeong Chrysanthemum Festival 2026: Dates, Tickets and Tips

Last checked: October 26, 2026. Details can change, so confirm with the organizers before you go.

The Korea Chrysanthemum Festival (Daehanmin-guk Gukhyang Daejeon) is on at Hampyeong Expo Park in Jeollanam-do until November 8, 2026. This year’s theme is “A Chrysanthemum Garden of Myths.” If you want to see it, you have only a few weekends left.

Quick facts

  • Dates: October 23 to November 8, 2026 (17 days)
  • Hours: 09:00 to 18:00 daily. The ticket office closes at 17:00 according to the NOL ticket page.
  • Where: Hampyeong Expo Park, Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do
  • Admission: Paid. The NOL ticket page lists adults at 7,000 KRW, but the price text there is partly unclear, so confirm at the gate or on the official site.
  • Organizer: Hampyeong County (run by the Hampyeong Festival & Tourism Foundation)
  • Contact: Hampyeong Festival & Tourism Foundation, +82-61-320-2247
  • Official site: hpftf.or.kr

What to expect

The festival is built around large chrysanthemum displays and chrysanthemum bonsai. The organizers describe the exhibition as a mix of flowers and storytelling, with new themed sculptures and exhibition spaces this year. Cultural events, performances and hands-on activities run alongside the flowers. I could not find a detailed program schedule, so check the official site for what is on during your visit.

Tickets

Tickets are sold on NOL Ticket and at the foundation’s office inside the park. Advance sales have ended, so you pay the regular price. Each ticket allows one entry. Discounted tickets need ID or supporting documents. The NOL page does not state any special rules for foreign visitors, and it links to an English version of the page.

Getting there

I could not confirm official public transport or shuttle information. Officials say traffic guidance staff will be on site, and traffic may be adjusted on weekends and at peak hours, so expect crowds on Saturdays and Sundays. A local campaign this season offers train fare refunds for visitors who book a Hampyeong trip through the Korail website. The conditions are not clear, so check them before you rely on it.

Tips

  • Go on a weekday if you can. The remaining weekends are October 31 to November 1 and November 7 to 8.
  • Check the official site or call the foundation before you go, since the schedule can change.
  • Plan your transport in advance, because information on buses and shuttles is limited.
