The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Seoul is showing “Do Ho Suh” from August 27, 2026 to February 9, 2027. It is a large solo show of the Korean-born artist, covering his early works through projects still in progress. It follows a Damien Hirst exhibition that, according to one magazine report, drew more than 540,000 visitors.

What to expect

The show covers about 30 years of work. News reports center it on questions of home, dwelling, migration, community, memory and identity. They list these works and themes:

  • Nest/s (2024). A large installation made of polyester and stainless steel, which MMCA used as an official introductory image.
  • Bridge Project. An ongoing project that explores the possibility of lives that cross borders.
  • Unseen works. The show includes works that have not been shown before.
  • Many drawings. A newspaper report says many of the drawings are shown in Korea for the first time.

I could not confirm a full works list.

Tips for international visitors

  • The run is about five months, so you can plan around other Seoul stops.
  • Check MMCA’s website for opening hours and any reservation rules.
  • If you like large installations, allow extra time to walk through them.
