The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) opens “Georgia O’Keeffe and American Modern Art” at its Gwacheon branch on November 12, 2026. It runs into March 2027, but sources disagree on the end date (March 14 or March 31), so confirm it with the museum. One magazine report calls it the first exhibition in Korea focused on O’Keeffe.

What is planned
MMCA’s announcement says the show centers on Georgia O’Keeffe and includes works by Alfred Stieglitz and Charles Demuth, major painters of American modernism. It follows O’Keeffe’s work across her life, and the paintings will be shown with photos and video. A magazine report adds Marsden Hartley and Helen Torr, and says the show includes her well-known flower and desert series and major works from the Art Institute of Chicago. I could not confirm the full list of works or lenders.
Tips for international visitors
- Gwacheon is outside Seoul, so check the route and travel time before you go.
- The exhibition runs about four months, so you do not need to rush on opening day.
- Confirm the opening hours and any reservation rules on MMCA’s website.
