The 6th Goheung Yuja Festival runs from November 12 to 15, 2026 in the Handong-ri area of Pungyang-myeon, Goheung County, Jeollanam-do. Yuja (Korean citron, close to yuzu) is Goheung’s famous crop. This year the county is adding more night lighting, a drone show and an international exchange hall, with the slogan “November, autumn is yuja heaven.”

What is planned
- Yuja-themed spaces: A large yuja sculpture, a yuja exhibition hall, an observation deck, photo zones in the yuja fields, and a “light garden” with luminaries.
- Performances: An opening performance, a yuja concert, a drone show, mime and street performances, and shows at a yuja-field healing garden.
- Opening day: Reports say the festival opens on November 12 together with the 52nd Goheung Citizens’ Day, with a parade, ceremony and singing contest.
- Family activities: Children’s and family booths and a flea market.
- Food: A local food hall, a specialty products market, and a “yuja dinner” series with yuja ramen, yuja gimbap and yuja eel.
- International exchange: An exhibition on the yuja-producing cities of Korea, China and Japan, with programs for foreign visitors.
I could not find a program timetable. Last year’s festival, according to one guide, ran the night lights, concert and drone show until 10 p.m. and offered yuja picking from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but this year’s hours are not confirmed.
Getting there
Reports say there will be shuttle buses, more parking, extra rest areas and better signs, but they give no routes or times. One guide says last year’s shuttles ran every 15 minutes between parking lots and the festival site.
Goheung is far from Seoul, so plan your return. That same guide, citing county transport information, says the last intercity bus from Goheung to Seoul leaves at 5:10 p.m. That is before the night lights, so check the current timetable. If you want to see the lights, a car or a night in the area is the easier choice. The county is promoting lodging events and tourist taxis to encourage overnight stays.
Tips for international visitors
- Confirm bus times and the shuttle plan with the county before you go.
- Go in the afternoon and stay for the evening lights if you can sleep nearby.
- Dress warmly for an outdoor evening in November.
- Try the yuja dishes at the food hall.
